Thank you and farewell to Senan Kiryakos

At the end of 2021 our colleague, Senan Kiryakos left the JVMG project to pursue other professional goals. Senan had been responsible for a lot of the work on processing the data we received from the communities and integrating them into the JVMG Knowledge Graph. He wrote two extensive posts for this blog on some aspects of this work: Turning Fan-Created Data into Linked Data I: Ontology Creation and Turning Fan-Created Data into Linked Data II: Data Transformation.

He has also contributed to documenting the ontologies of Anime Characters Database, AnimeClick and The Visual Novel Database, and co-authored a number of conference presentations and proceedings, most notably for the 16th International Symposium of Information Science (ISI 2021), the 23rd International Conference on Asia-Pacific Digital Libraries (ICADL 2021), and the FanLIS 2021 Symposium: Building Bridges.

We would like to thank Senan for all his hard work on the JVMG project, and wish him all the best for his future professional endeavors. We are also looking forward to seeing him again soon at various conferences and workshops!
